September 2026 – Small Acts, Deep Healing
Dear Friends and Well-Wishers,
August flowed through our lives like a quiet song of service, leaving us richer in care, commitment and companionship. As we step into September — our sixth month of activity this year — the South Point ’66 Social Welfare Society pauses to honour the small, steady acts of kindness that can blossom into lasting change.
Music Therapy: Nurturing Joy and Connection
Svarāntar Academy has now completed its fourth month of Music Therapy sessions, with encouraging feedback from our beneficiaries. We had a review meeting with the Svarāntar Academy team and representatives of Asha Niketan, Old Age Home and Prabartak Samgha to understand the impact and efficacy of these sessions and collectively decide the way forward.
Based on their review of the programme, OAH has decided to discontinue its participation in the Music Therapy sessions. They have not observed a sufficiently positive or meaningful impact among the participants, nor have they seen the level of interest and motivation needed for the sessions to be effective. We respect their assessment and decision and will therefore discontinue the programme at OAH.
Strengthening Transparency and Accountability
As decided, we have implemented the new process for documenting our monthly activities, keeping IT compliance in mind. This will further strengthen transparency, accountability and proper documentation, while honouring the trust that every donor places in our collective work.
A Meaningful Session on Organ Donation
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Siddhartha Chakraborty for a profoundly moving and illuminating presentation on organ donation. His clear explanations, seasoned expertise and deep commitment to the cause offered us valuable practical guidance, while reminding us how a single act of generosity can restore hope and transform lives. We deeply appreciate the time, wisdom and passion he shared with us.
Celebrating Our 80th Independence Day
The 80th Independence Day of our beloved country was celebrated with enthusiasm across all our beneficiary organisations. Everyone participated wholeheartedly in flag hoisting and other cultural activities, making the occasion both joyful and meaningful.
Together, Let Us Do A Little More
Every contribution of time, talent or treasure strengthens our Helping – Healing – Caring mission. As we move through September, I warmly invite each member to:
-
Bring a friend to our “Listen to Your Body” wellness sessions.
-
Invite a fellow Pointer to join our SP66SWS Group.
-
Continue supporting the Music Therapy programme and our other initiatives that seek to restore joy, dignity and human connection.
-
With gratitude in our hearts and steady hope in our minds, let us continue to widen our circle of care — one small act, one helping hand and one compassionate gesture at a time.
Warmly,
Arun Kanti Bhattacharya
