November Activities — South Point 66 Social Welfare Society
As November unfolds, bringing with it the spirit of gratitude and reflection, South Point 66 Social Welfare Society continues its heartfelt journey of compassion and service. Following the vibrant festivals of October that united our community in devotion, joy, and togetherness, we have focused our energies on deepening our support for those who need us most.
Throughout the year 2025, our efforts have embraced the diverse needs of eight distinct beneficiary groups, reaffirming our commitment to uplift, nurture, and empower. From wellness and rehabilitation programs for the differently-abled and visually challenged children, to educational support for numerous schools, to dedicated care for senior citizens and vulnerable women, every initiative embodies our collective dedication to human dignity.
This November, we are especially grateful to donors and partners whose generosity fuels our ongoing mission. Key highlights this month include:
-
Welfare Society for the Blind: Aparna and Manas’s gracious monthly contribution of Rs 2000 plays a crucial role in advancing the well-being and development of visually challenged children, empowering us to nurture their abilities and foster hope for a brighter future.
-
We are deeply grateful to Exide Industries, Kolkata, for generously sponsoring the entire cost of further education for Ishika Das, a meritorious visually impaired trainee of the Welfare Society for the Blind, who is eager to pursue her graduation at Bethune College.
-
We also sincerely thank Acer India (Pvt) Ltd, Bangalore, for kindly sponsoring a laptop for Ishika Das. Such thoughtful and impactful support inspires us and sustains our mission to empower and uplift.
-
All Bengal Women’s Union: We express our sincere gratitude to Acer India (Pvt) Ltd for generously sponsoring a full-page advertisement in the commemorative Souvenir marking the Platinum Jubilee celebration of 75 years of their unwavering dedication and exemplary service.
-
Kajal Nag celebrated her Golden Anniversary on 19th November by graciously treating all the elders of the Old Age Home at the All Bengal Women’s Union to a delicious lunch. Similarly, Anubha PalChowdhury marked her grandchild’s birthday by sharing a special lunch with all the inmates of Prabartak Samgha, a home for underprivileged disabled orphans, many of whom suffer from severe epilepsy. In addition to the heartfelt meal, Anubha also distributed new clothes to all the residents. These generous acts of kindness from our members deeply motivate us and reinforce our shared mission of helping, healing, and caring.
-
The comprehensive health check-up camp at Prabartak Samgha conducted by HP Ghosh Hospital on 23rd November the Sunday afternoon covered essential health parameters crucial for monitoring the residents' well-being. Key assessments included measuring blood pressure (BP), blood sugar levels, oxygen saturation, and pulse rate for all inmates, which are vital indicators of cardiovascular, respiratory, and metabolic health. Additionally, electrocardiogram (ECG) tests were conducted for two inmates to evaluate heart function more closely and detect any underlying cardiac issues. These examinations provide a holistic view of the inmates' health, enabling timely intervention and ongoing health support as part of our continuing commitment to their care.
This medical camp initiative highlights the importance of regular health screening in vulnerable populations, ensuring early detection and management of potential health concerns to maintain and improve quality of life.
Fulfillment of November GBS Commitment :
Balwadi Creche ( ABWU ) : Donated Leggings , Full Pant and Sweaters for all children of the School to beat the harsh winter.
Welfare Society for the Blind : They wanted a new DVR for their CCTV connectivity. We organised one A Hikvision 8-channel DVR. This works by connecting up to eight security cameras via wired inputs to a
central recording unit, which the compresses and stores the video footage on an internal hard drive
As the chill of winter approaches, the teachings of Devi Durga inspire us to remain steadfast in kindness and service. Every act of generosity strengthens the threads that bind us in shared humanity.
With deepest gratitude to all members, donors, and friends, we look forward to continuing this journey, lighting hope and healing in every corner we touch.
Warm wishes for health, joy, and renewed vigor for the days ahead.
