September Activities

South Point 66 Social Welfare Society (SP66SWS) – Highlights of September 2025.

This September has been a month of both challenge and compassion. The heavy downpour that brought much of Kolkata to a standstill, leaving large parts of the city and countless homes waterlogged, reminded us how abruptly nature can test our resilience. Many families saw water seeping into their homes, disrupting daily life and creating distressing health and safety challenges. In such times, our resolve to stand by one another and to share hope becomes even more meaningful.

Key Initiatives :

In response to the devastating floods in Punjab, SP66SWS contributed ₹50,000 to the Global Sikh Community, extending timely support to families in dire need. An acknowledgment of our contribution has been received, reaffirming that our small step has reached those who needed it most.

We are grateful to our member Pravin Bharatiya, who went a step further and made a personal donation of ₹2,000, embodying the spirit of individual generosity that strengthens collective action.

Giving Back to Society (GBS) – September :

Mira Upkar Trust : We supported the purchase of a Wireless Bluetooth Speaker with Mic, enriching the classroom experience for autistic and orthopaedically disabled children. This will strengthen music and language therapy, making learning interactive and joyful while building confidence.

Prabartak Samgha : We continued with our monthly groceries and toiletries support for the young children of this home for disabled orphans, ensuring their daily needs are met with dignity and care.

Welfare Society for the Blind : In a deeply heart-warming gesture, Aparna & Manas made a generous contribution of ₹20,000 towards procuring musical instruments for the children. Their act of benevolence will not only nurture hidden talents but also light up young lives with the power of music, joy, and self-expression.

Listen To Your Body (LTYB)On 21st September

We had the privilege of hosting Dr. Kushal Nag, renowned Foot and Ankle Specialist from Apollo Hospital, Kolkata. With clarity and compassion, he shared valuable insights on common foot problems, especially diabetic foot care, and patiently addressed every query. His empathetic approach left a deep impression on all participants. We place on record our heartfelt gratitude for his time and wisdom.

Gratitude :

We extend our sincere thanks to every donor, member, and well-wisher. Your kindness continues to transform lives, even amid natural hardships. In supporting flood relief, enabling disabled children, and uplifting vulnerable communities, you are helping restore not just material comfort but also dignity and hope.

Looking Ahead :

Even as our beloved city recovers from the effects of nature’s fury, we reaffirm our commitment to service. With each initiative, we move forward—step by step, heart by heart—towards a kinder, more inclusive tomorrow.

As the city now prepares to welcome Durga Puja, with its lights, colours, and devotion, we draw deeper inspiration from the Goddess herself—symbol of strength, compassion, and the eternal triumph of good over adversity. Just as the chants of “Maa aschen” fill the air, may our collective efforts continue to bring joy where there is despair and light where there is darkness.

Wishing every member and well-wisher a safe, peaceful, and fulfilling Durga Puja. Together, let us keep spreading smiles, bringing comfort, and creating ripples of change that touch many more lives.
